UPOnline follows a pay-as-you-study model, where you register and pay per module, with fees divided into equal instalments. Payment must be made before your module's start date to maintain access to your study resources.
Payment Deadlines
Upload proof of payment (POP) via the UP Student Portal within five days of your module's start date to keep your Blackboard/clickUP access active. If payment has not been received or confirmed by day 11, you will be deregistered. No exceptions will be made.
- Always use your student number (EMPLID) as your payment reference.
Sponsored or Bursary Students
If an external bursary or sponsor pays your fees in full upfront, you remain personally responsible for any shortfall arising from annual fee increases for the remainder of your programme. Visit the 'Own External Bursary/Sponsor' page for more information.
Annual Fee Increases
Take note that:
- Module pricing may change annually without prior notice.
- Tuition fees increase by approximately 6% each year, effective 1 February. The increase applies from the March intake (the second intake of the year).
- All payments received will first be applied to any outstanding debt owed to the University of Pretoria.
- The total programme fee is all-inclusive, covering all modules required to complete the qualification.
Please note:
- UPOnline students do not qualify for tuition fee discounts.
- Payment arrangements cannot be made.
